Regardless of what side of the aisle you sit on, it’s obvious that the current state of the U.S. healthcare system is not the greatest. Many have benefited from the ACA and many have suffered. California is leading the way toward a single-payer healthcare system. I imagine that there will be hurdles they will have to overcome as it comes naturally when you are the first.
You may not be aware that Medicare is a single-payer system. The government sets the provider reimbursement rates for any service provided to a Medicare eligible member and about 97% of providers in this country accept Medicare. Medicare is working… it’s been working for a very long time. Let’s keep an eye on California.
